Fellows remember Comrade Nizamuddin Matin

Comrade Nizamuddin Matin was a legend among the youths during 1980’s and also played a vital role during the Liberation War of 1971

Associates, co-workers and fellows remembered Comrade Nizamuddin Matin, a revolutionist left politician, widely known for his role in left-leaning politics in Bangladesh.

Prominent left politicians and comrades came up with the memories during a remembrance program held for Comrade Nizamuddin Matin at the Rc Majumdar Auditorium, Dhaka University (DU) on Friday.

Comrade Nizamuddin Matin was a legend among the youths during 1980’s and also played a vital role during the Liberation War of 1971, said his fellows and associates.

Comrade Nizamuddin Matin was a life-time revolutionist who tried to form a strong base of left-leaning politics according to Marx-Lenin and Mao’s theories, added the speakers.

Hasan Fakri was in the commemoration chair while Bangladesh Samajtantrik Andolon Convener Hamidul Haque, Jatiya Ganatantrik Ganomoncha President Masud Khan, Nayaganatantrik Gano Morcha President Zafor Hassain, Jatiya Mukti Council General Secretary Faizul Hakim, energy expert Rahamatullah and Khanon Editor Badol Sha Alam spoke at the event.

Comrade Matin was born in 1955 in Barisal and joined politics while he was a student of class nine in 1969. 

He was in prison for ten years after the Liberation War.

He died on August 11, 2019 due to old-age complications.
